Ordering

Please read our Terms & Conditions. Sorry - we do not have an "online" ordering facility. If you contact us, detailing your requirements, we will provide a firm quotation (inclusive of packing, delivery and insurance costs) together with details for secure Credit Card payment through PayPal.

Updates

We endeavour to update our stock listing at the start of each month. The stock status indicator buttons are updated more frequently, but we cannot guarantee that any item marked as available has not been sold!

Web Log

Our stock is constantly changing, so it's not possible to list the full inventory, or update the stock pages on a daily basis. We have recently introduced a Web Log which we will use to notify visitors of new stock and other snippets of information - we hope you'll find this useful.

If you have a specialist interest, or need that unique piece to complete your collection, please ask - we have many unlisted items. If not in our current stock, we may know where to source it for you!

HMS Ocean off Japan - 1902

We have recently sold a Log Book from HMS Ocean.

This photograph of an original oil painting has been kindly supplied to us by Jean O'Shea, from the United States. It was painted, with considerable skill, by her Great Uncle, Daniel Crowley.

The scene graphically depicts HMS Ocean in heavy seas, against a stormy sky. At the time she was on passage between the Japanese ports of Kobe and Nagasaki, on the 7th and 8th of August 1902. What excites us, is that this actual voyage was detailed in "our" Log Book.

Although Jean has no family history to accompany the painting, she assumes that her Great Uncle was, either serving on HMS Ocean or, perhaps, one of her sister ships? If any readers have information relating to Daniel Crowley - either as a Seaman, or as an Artist! - please contact us. We will pass the information to Jean, who is researching the history of her Great Uncle's Naval Service.
