Miniature RAF Pilot's Brevet

This example was worn by overseas RAF personnel. It purports to have been issued to Eagle Squadron Pilot 1st Lt. John F. Lutz of 334 Fighter Squadron. After the United States entered the war and the Eagle Squadron members returned to the USAAF, pilots would wear this wing on the right side of their tunic, while wearing the US wing on the left side as evidence of their previous service with the RAF.
