 | RAF Trench Art Paper Knife - Made from aircraft scrap materials with the handle fashioned from Plexiglas and washers with the steel section probably originally used as a tensioning support. The cross guard is brass and the grip top copper. Almost certainly crafted by an aircraft fitter in his spare time. A decorative and functional addition to any RAF collection. Measures 6.5" (17 cm)

| USAAF A-14 Oxygen Mask & Hose - As issued with original card storage box. The mask is in near mint condition and marked medium, made by The Ohio Chemical Company and is embossed property Air Force, US Army and dated 5/44. The mask is fitted with a full harness in similar condition. It would be hard to find a nicer example to display with your USAAF headgear.

| Fighter Pilot This is a first edition and a personal record of the Battle of France. It was written anonymously when published in 1941 as the author was very much in the front line, serving with no. 1 Squadron. The author was subsequently killed in action and his name was released as Paul Richey. This gripping book is a personal account of the Battle of France from September 1939 to June 1940 when the author was flying Hawker Hurricanes. The book is perfusely illustrated with original black and white photographs of his fellow pilots Killy, Prosser, Boy, Moses, the Doc and others! It also has pictures of the aircraft, airfields and combat. The book has its original dust jacket with just minor damage and is in generally very good condition. A great read as well as an excellent reference book for the aviation collector.

| The Last Enemy This is a first edition, published in 1942 shortly before Richard Hilary's untimely death in a flying accident. A classic fighter pilot's story and covers his training and the Battle of Britain when he suffered severe burns to his face and hands and underwent plastic surgery under the pioneering surgeon Archibold McIndoe, thus becoming one of his very early "guinea pigs". The book is with the original dust cover which shows some wear but is protected by a protective jacket. Generally in good overall condition.

| Luftwaffe Navigator's Instruments in Issue Case - Marked on canvas K.W.27 and manufacturer's code bvu indicating the set was made by Franz Kuhlmann of Wilhelmshaven. The case has a fitted interior containing 4 perspex instruments marked with manufacturer's code, Waffen eagle and swastika and dated 1941. One is named Nadel-Zahlen and features an inset dial marked Fliegeruhr (pilot's watch); this instrument has a small crack, but still displays well. The rectangular instrument is marked Zielgevierttafel, indicating a target designation grid and was no doubt used to help calculate the bomb run. The set is completed with 2 small square instruments marked with kilometre distances on the edges. A rare cased set. Case measurements 9" x 7.25" (23 cm x 19 cm)

| Frazer Nash F.N.50 Mid Upper Turret Cupola - As fitted to early examples of Avro Lancaster heavy bombers and in service would have been fitted with twin Browning.303 machine guns. It was described by those who used it as "roomy and comfortable but difficult to exit in a hurry! Sadly, we don't have any provenance with this example but no doubt it has a story to tell. The aluminium frame is in excellent condition and is fitted with the original plexiglas showing some damage but generally in good display condition. Data plates are fitted inside confirming stores reference no. 50E 12601, serial no. 314 and drawing nos. 449, 383 and 203.

| Air Ministry Chobert Riveter Type A No. 6563 - This is only the second example we have had and is nicely marked with A.M., King's Crown and dated 1943. It was supplied by Aviation Developments Ltd. and comes in a fitted pine box. The external property plaque has been removed, possibly when the item was "acquired" from the Air Ministry! Interestingly, the box is marked with a military broad arrow and with the letters RN, so we speculate this example could have served with the FAA. The box contains a sealed tin and a further three wooden boxes with slide lids containing rivets, rods and assorted spare parts. While offered for sale as a collector's item, the rivet gun has a strong spring and may well still function as intended if you have a Spitfire project in your garden shed! | Section of Propeller Tip - Finished in RAF colours and while we do not know what aircraft it came from, judging by its size it is likely to be a single engine trainer or fighter. Made from laminated timber with original covering and polished brass leading edge. Measures 12" (31 cm)

| RAF Aerial Kite in Original Issue Tin - We have had several of these over the years but this example is definitely the best! The tin carries a very clear label with illustration assembly and launching instructions. Inside everything is as you would expect and exactly as it was when it left the factory about 70 years ago. It comes complete with 33 yards of flying line in the original carton, which is nearly always missing. The kite itself looks as though it has never been removed from the tin or assembled and believe the set to be "mint and boxed". If you want the best, look no further! Measures 21.5" (55 cm)

| 204 Squadron Presentation Tankard - Engraved to the front to F/O Armitstead 204 Squadron from "Spotter" June '39 - to December '40. 204 Squadron RAF Coastal Command were equipped with Sunderland flying boats in 1939. We have managed to trace F/O John Royds Armitstead service no. 33378 who had been promoted an A/FLt. by 1941 and still serving with 204 Squadron, was awarded a DFC on 25th April, 1941. The tankard is stamped Unity Pewter & English Make. The base has had a slight ding but it makes a fine souvenir with known provenance. Measures 5" (13 cm).

| WWI dated Wristlet - Featuring a black dial with Roman numerals picked out in gold with a subsidiary second hand. A leather strap is fitted which shows some wear and could well be original to the watch. This is attached by hinged lugs and has an oversized extended brass winder at the 3 o'clock position. This watch has a snap back and is engraved CPL Firth 1917. We are assuming the CPL were the original owner's initials, rather than his rank. Unfortunately we have no provenance with this item, it seems likely it was a gift to Mr. Firth in 1917 and the probability is he served in one of the armed forces. The gilt movement is marked B & C Co. Swiss Made 15 jewels. The condition of the watch is exactly as it came in and appears to be in good running order. It is on offer as a collectable but after 91 years, may benefit from a clean and service, so we will leave this decision to the new owner. Diameter 1.25" (3.5 cm)

| LKp S101 Flying Helmet - First introduced in 1938, this is the Summer Luftwaffe flying helmet made from the salt and pepper material as used for the Fliegerkombi. The helmet is in very clean condition and is fitted with a wiring loom and throat microphones, although the receivers and perspex covers have been removed. While originally having provision for a 3 point oxygen mask, the top attachment loop and strap have been removed at some stage. This could well be a field modification if the helmet was only used with a 2 point attachment mask. The silk lining is in good clean condition and carries a maker's label named to Siemens and stamped GR57, so is a small size. Despite the modifications, it makes an excellent display helmet at an entry level price.

| Luftwaffe LKpW101 Flying Helmet - An example of the Winter pattern with a leather shell and sheepskin lining. Generally in excellent issued condition with all correct snaps and buckles in place, together with provision for attaching a 3 point oxygen mask. It does, however, lack a wiring loom or throat microphones but the attachment point for these is in place, so with the correct spares, could be upgraded to original condition. Inside the label is in place confirming it was made by Hersteller and various other stamps including Gr57.

| Luftwaffe Parachute Remnant - Mounted in a glazed frame is a small section of parachute with a typed label which is attached to a section of partly painted alloy stating 'Part of a German parachute from an enemy crewmember of a Heinkel bomber which crashed on April 28th 1941 after a raid on Portsmouth.' Above the label is a photograph of a Luftwaffe pilot at the controls of his aircraft. Sadly we have no other provenance with this item. Frame measures 12" x 9.5" (31 cm x24 cm).

| Luftwaffe LKpW101 Flying Helmet - A clean example of the standard winter flying helmet used by the German Air Force in WWII. The leather is in excellent condition as is the lambswool fur lining but the helmet is lacking receivers and wiring loom. The interior carries a manufacturer's label confirming made by Siemens and ink stamped GR58. Good entry level helmet in a decent size.

| RAAF Mk IIIA Flying Goggles - An excellent example of these classic goggles which were issued to both RAF, RAAF and RNZAF flight crews in the early part of WWII. These are near unissued condition with nearly all the black paint in place, hinge in good working order and goggle stops and ventilation trumpets just as they should be. The clear perspex lenses exhibit minor scratching but far above average and the black velvet face pads and black leather nose cover are also near perfect. The interior padding has hardened over the years. The back strap features red spring coverings (which helps identify Australian issue goggles) are in good condition with springs intact. The leather section has the correct adjustment buckle but is unmarked although could well have been manufactured by Stokes.

| RAF 'Bone Dome' Helmet Testing Kit - A weight set stores reference 4C/3368. All items in fitted hardwood box. This test kit was designed to test the visor brakes on the RAF Mk 2A helmet. A most unusual set for the RAF helmet collector. 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm (5.5" x 5.5")

| Tanker Jacket Combat Winter - While these jackets were issued in WWII to all branches of the US Army, it was favoured by the US armoured troops and acquired the nickname 'tanker jacket'. It also managed to find its way to the air force where it was favoured by flight crews, particularly on the P-38 Lightning where it was found to be less bulky than the standard Shearling jackets. This example is an extremely good replica and would appear from the label to date to 1994 and is named to Taderley Clothes. It has a Talon zip fitted in good working order. The khaki cotton shell is in excellent shape as are the knits. The interior lining is very clean. The label is marked 'size large' but we would estimate it is good for a 40"-42" chest. A perfect jacket for the collector, re-enactor or for general every day wear.

| USAAF A-2 Flying Jacket - A very scarce original WWII issued example. The horse hide leather is in excellent condition and is soft supple with a very nice patina. The waist band is original to the jacket and while it has some minor holes and repairs, it is well above average. The cuff knits are a slightly darker shade of brown and are probably early post war replacements. The original triple marked Talon zip is fitted. There is slight separation to the runner at the base of the zip but seeing it is original, we have decided to leave as it is. The interior fabric lining is in excellent shape with just minor repairs in the collar area. A period patch has also been added and while no label is present, we understand the maker could be Poughaeepsie and would date from around 1942. While the jacket has no sign of a name tag or squadron patch being fitted, the interior lining shows a part of the original owner's name and service number and we are told it was issued to Paul S. Sosovec who was born in 1912 and enlisted in the Army Airforce in Chicago in 1942. This lovely jacket is offered as a collector's item, although we estimate the chest size to be a 40"-42". We would not recommend for regular wear for fear of damaging the zip feed.

| RAF Irvin Flying Trousers with 149 Squadron provenance - In RAF parlance, thermally insulated trousers size 4 Irvin with stores ref. 22C/328. These are an excellent original example with an Air Ministry marked label confirming the original owner was called Nunn, service no. 1378662. Sgt Nunn flew with 149 squadron and was lost on a raid on Berlin on 1/2 March 1943. His aircraft Sterling 111 OJ-W was coned by searchlights and then attacked by fighters and Nunn was injured. Hit again by flak crossing the French coast crew members opened his chute before exiting the aircraft but he did not survive and is buried in the Canadian War Cemetery at Dieppe with his skipper F/L Richman and Sgt Croft. The leather is in excellent original condition with both zips functioning well and the trousers come complete with fitted braces. The fur lining is in equally good condition and other than minor damage to the left knee pocket, they are hard to fault.
