A Scrubbing Brush! - Click for the bigger picture SoldA Scrubbing Brush! - unique item of WWII RAF Memorabilia, with Battle of Britain associations. A Scrubbing Brush which belonged to G. Gillingham, who flew Hurricanes with 46 Squadron - he was nicknamed "scrubby"! This brush was presented to him when he left the squadron - it was autographed by the surviving pilots under the caption "from the lucky ones". Purchased via the pilot's daughter. 46 Squadron, part of 12 Group, was based at Digby and Stapleford Tawney during the Battle of Britian.

Has a collectable CC41 marked label (Controlled Clothing Price), introduced during the war to ensure a standard for all items available on the market and often seen on blankets, etc. Good used condition.

Size 10 (44) Have been mismatched at some stage, but appear to have been worn as a pair, both named to "Beaton". Original A.M. stamped Lightning zips, professionally resoled, excellent galosh. Rare to find such a nice example in large size.

Irvin Flying Jacket - Click for the bigger picture SoldIrvin Flying Jacket - RAF, issued in 1942 as a replacement. The owner, a Hurricane pilot, lost his previous one when he was shot down over the English Channel. His personal identification "B" (Bob) is still painted on the chest. All original A.M. zips, some repair sections, but superb historical jacket. Chest size approx. 41" (104 cm).
